Cari fratelli e sorelle, buon anno! In questo giorno, nel quale celebriamo Maria Santissima Madre di Dio, poniamo sotto il suo sguardo premuroso il nuovo tempo che ci è donato. Che lei ci custodisca in quest’anno. Oggi il Vangelo ci svela che la grandezza di Maria non consiste nel compiere qualche azione straordinaria; piuttosto, mentre i pastori, ricevuto l’annuncio dagli angeli, si affrettano verso Betlemme (cfr Lc 2,15-16), lei rimane in silenzio.
