Among the scores of regulars at the street-side venue in Muhsin, a low-income suburb of Lagos, is Remilekun Oguntoye, 23, who waits for her usual order: two packs of noodles with a fried egg and some fish. “In the seven days of the week, I can eat it up to five days,” says Oguntoye, who does not like cooking and sees noodles as a fast, filling alternative. “With the number of times I eat [noodles], I should be an ambassador by now.” Continue reading... http://dlvr.it/T0nhpj

Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Ola Olukoyede, has encouraged Nigerians at the local government level to be ready and willing to offer information to the anti-graft agency at all times on how their resources are being used. Inside the $760M restoration of Notre Dame  cathedral The new rooster is added to the top of Notre Dame cathedral in Paris on December 16, as rebuilding continues after a catastrophic fire in 2019. While the spire is still currently encased in scaffolding, the 860-year-old building will reopen in 2024. As tourists and Parisian gathered outside the UNESCO-listed cathedral to admire the return of one of its most emblematic features — for now, still encased in scaffolding — the Notre Dame worksite remained in full swing. Nearly 500 craftspeople are busy with rebuilding efforts, working to ensure the Parisian landmark is ready for its grand reopening to the public less than a year from now. “It’s fascinating to see how something of such historical value is being restored,” said Stephan Book, a tourist visiting Paris from Sweden with his daughter and 80-year-old father. “And the ambition to do it all in five years,” he added, “It’s like when Kennedy said (humans) were going to the moon.” So

Tinubu Ignored My Advice” – Soyinka Says After Presenting 7-point Agenda To The President Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, has revealled his private conversations with President Bola Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar before the 2023 elections. Speaking after a “Christmas visit” to the president’s Lagos residence on Sunday, Soyinka said he had advised Tinubu and Atiku to drop their presidential ambitions for young Nigerians. Soyinka, however, said the duo neglected his advice. “I came here with a seven-point agenda. And we had a very thorough discussion on those items,” Soyinka said. “Actually, it’s an embarrassing visit because when I visited him the last time, it was to try and persuade him not to run for office. I told Atiku and himself to please leave the ground so young people could run. That’s the last time we met about five years ago. “So I came to see how he was doing after ignoring my advice. I came to see how both he and his wife were weathering Ni

Reflecting on the Journey: From New Beginnings to a Silent Christmas*

Title: Reflecting on the Journey: From New Beginnings to a Silent Christmas As we ushered in the year with most people, filled with hopes, dreams, and resolutions, little did we anticipate the twists and turns that lay ahead. Today, as we gather to celebrate Christmas, there's a poignant realization that some who embarked on this journey with us are no longer here. The year began with promises of new opportunities, personal growth, and shared moments of joy. We joined hands with friends and family, sharing the optimism that a fresh start often brings. However, life, unpredictable as ever, unfolded in ways that tested our resilience and strength. As we deck the halls and exchange gifts on this Christmas day, there's a bittersweet undertone to the festivities. The absence of those who started this year by our side casts a shadow on the merriment. Some faced unexpected challenges, others embarked on different paths, and a few left us, leaving behind memories that now echo through
