Le parole dell’apostolo Paolo illuminano l’inizio del nuovo anno: «Quando venne la pienezza del tempo, Dio mandò il suo Figlio, nato da donna» (Gal 4,4). Colpisce l’espressione “pienezza del tempo”. Anticamente si usava misurare il tempo svuotando e riempiendo delle anfore: quando erano vuote cominciava un nuovo lasso di tempo, che terminava quando erano piene. Ecco la pienezza del tempo: quando l’anfora della storia è colma, la grazia divina trabocca: Dio si fa uomo e lo fa nel segno di una donna, Maria. Lei è la via scelta da Dio; lei è il punto di arrivo di tante persone e generazioni che, “goccia dopo goccia”, hanno preparato la venuta del Signore nel mondo.
